This ongoing program is designed to ensure that the hydrants will operate properly when needed. This years program will involve all hydrants in the city and should be completed by the end ofNovember. This maintenance program is quite routine. however, it may cause some temporary inconveniences such as poor water pressure and in some cases coloured water. Please check your water before use and if discoloured water is detected please open a cold water tap and allow the water to run until it clears. This is a tempo- rary situation. The City of Waterloo is aware that some residents may be concerned about the water being used as part of this maintenance program. especially in light ofthe water use restrictions in place this year. The testing of fire hydrants is legislated. Staff will keep water use to a minimum while performing the testing necessary to meet our legislated responsibility. The City of Waterloo Utility Staff and the City of Waterloo Fire Department thank you for your co-operation and understanding. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the Utilities Customer Service Representative at 747-8613.
