The Kâ€"W club‘s major fundraising events appeal to the community, while proâ€" viding vehicles to raise money for local bursaries and scholarships. The CFUW looks for places to donate any "leftâ€" over" books and ancient textbooks were predictably unappealing. Legions of members and some spouses sort the books into reasonablyâ€"idenâ€" tifiable piles. Hundreds of women sort books: pile them in approâ€" priate categories onto tables; take cash; and proâ€" vide expert help to cusâ€" tomers, some of whom come to line up early to get the best "picks" or linger at the end of the sale to pick up even greater bargains. _ Leftover books are re boxed.
