Closing Harold Wagner school is plain wrong losing schools closes communities to new life, and we all know what happens when new life is not created. Property values drop and cities lose tax dollars. Then the cities cry that there is no money for facilities. The redevelopâ€" ment of Kitchener‘s downâ€" town is hard because there are few facilities for young families. I have moved from downtown Kitchener becâ€" ause it was becoming rental property and values were dropping. This creates a transient lifestyle. Waterloo would be foolish to let this happen. If money is so tight, why don‘t the powers that be, close the pensions and raisâ€" es, and put money into the system instead of always taking away. Are these greedy selfâ€"serving times in which the future should be ignored? No one can tell me. in a great country like Canada, there is no money for the education of our future. It is easy for the trustees and the politicians to talk and make promises when they are not affected. Butwhat happens next time? This could be your school. "Drafters understood marâ€" riage exclusively as the union of one man and one woman‘, and, "No Canadian court has changed its definition of marâ€" rlage", as if they are compelling reasons to omit: sameâ€"sex mamages from legal recogniâ€" tion. To this 1 reply that every Canadian has the right to peacefully challenge discrimiâ€" natory law. Biased tradition is not a credible excuse for the allowance of judicial stagnaâ€" tion. So, Dr. Reid, believe what you will and express what you wish, but when you write about history demonstrating that heterosexual marriages are necessary for the proper functioning of society, remâ€" ember that you write from a Judeoâ€"Christian perspective, and that yours is but one of many opinions. Small schools like Harold Wagner are like a small town; the very environment that is a safe and nurturing atmasphere that allows the teachers and students to be at ease. [ am sure that allows for a better education. Last time 1 checked, the system was for the kids to be nurâ€" tured and allowed to develâ€" op into productive memâ€" bers of society. Better eduâ€" cation makes a better comâ€" munity. A better community makes a better society. We want a better society. Continued from page 9 simply because it is bound up with a sense of tradition. He writes statements such as Judicial stagnation Aletsha Stevens, Ron Laurie, Waterloo
