At this meeting delegations from Brighton public school made presentations with respect to saving their school from closing. We are parents from Harold W. Wagner public school who, along with othâ€" ers, have been trying since June 2000 to gather support for our school. At the start of this we called our councillor for the ward that Harold W. Wagner is in, and we received a very Waterloo Heights Retirement Apartments Valentine‘s Tea s Open House a O _ 170 Erb. He said that the board notifies the city of what their plans are, but that it is board business and not the City of Waterloo‘s. different response than that shown on Monday night. Therefore, we as a group did not pursue this any furâ€" ther. Instead, we focused on the board of trustees with the school board. They ultiâ€" mately have the final deciâ€" sion on this matter. . We cannot fault the peoâ€" ple from Brighton public school for trying to get counâ€" cil support. They have been through this review process three times. However, in fairness to itX Harold W. Wagner, we too are a core school, and if supâ€" port is shown to Brighton it should also be shown to Harold W. Wagner. This should not be turned into a fight between the two schools. The board‘s proâ€" posal is to close both Brighton and Harold MW. Wagner. Perhaps more inâ€"depth information should be gathâ€" ered by both the City of Waterloo and the school board, in order to best decide the fate of both these core schools, and more importantly, all the students involved.
