A memonal service is to be held Saturday at the Waterloo public lbrary for a former circulation manager at the Waterloo Chronicle. Gregory Cassidy, 35. died Dec. 5 in Toronto Circulation manager at the Chronicle from December of 1983 to August of 1993, Cassidy was also a member of the Waterloo public library board from 1988 to 1993, attaining the chairmanship in 1993, and was president of the AIDS Committee of Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo and Area from May, 1991 to August, 1993. "He really cared about libranes an awful lot," said Waterloo chief ibraman, Joanne Tate. "He really, 1 think, helped pull our library forward in a lot of ways. 1 think in termg. of things like fundraising and promot@@®e and technology â€" he was interested in all of those things." The current president of ACCKWA, Bill Hoskinson, said while Cassidy was president of the organization, he brought a great deal of dynamics and vitality to the board. "He was just a very dvnamic, caring, committed person, who had an awful lot to share with the community and certainly did so," Hoskinson said. Cassidy completed the requirements for his master degree in library saience at the University of Toronto this past spring.
