Butler, with a time of 4:32.04, was five seconds faster than Schwan. Clive Hamilton, also of the Twin City Athletics, finished second in the men‘s 3,000m in 8:22.0 minutes. _ TRACK Charles Poulin, of the Laurel Creek Track Club was first in 400m juvenile boys in 42:04 seconds; Dan O‘Connell, of the Conestoga Valley Harriers, was second in the juvenile boys 800m in 2:05.00 minutes. In juvenile girls com:â€" petition Sue Berg of Laurel Creek was third in the 400m in 59:09 while Kresteâ€" na Sullivan was second in the 800m in 2:27.04. The pair, coached by Olympic coach John Briscoe, won their division at the 1991 Royal Bank Canadian Figure Skating Championships in Saskatoon over the weekend. Christine Hough of Waterloo and partner Doug Ladret, of North Vancouyâ€" er, finished second in senior pairs skatâ€" ing. Hough slammed into the ice in a fall under her partner, who ‘carried a dazed Hough off the ice. Five minutes later, after she was checked out by doctors for broken bones, the two went out to win SKATING Michelle McDonald and Martin Smith of the Kitchenerâ€"Waterloo Skating Club are Number One in Canada in senior the silver medal. In his first year of senior competition, Kâ€"W Skating Club skater Lance Vipond, of Brantford, finished 11th. That was the case for St. David Celtic junior girls volleyball team as they won their first tournament of the season in an invitational meet at Surnia Northern over the weekend. In two previous tournaments the Celtics were elimiâ€" nated in the final. After defeating Allison Banting 2â€"1 in the quarterfinals and Resurrection C.S.9. of Kitchener 2â€"1 in the semifinals, Celtics blanked North Lambton 2â€"0 in the championship. Sarah Collins, of St. David, was named The Gold Medallion Precision Champâ€" ionships were held in Port Stanley this weekend. Call it a gut feeling, call it a coaches intuition, but Lynch along with several others on the fastball team, had a sinking feeling that it was the last season for the team. o So, when the CHYM‘r executive folded the team last week due to lack of manpowâ€" er, it came as no big surimu to Lynch and the others on the ball club.
