The score stood at 2â€"1 in favor of the home team â€" and stayed that way â€" when one CHYM‘r baseâ€" runner was held to third base wh..le another was called out at second. Pedersen crossed the plate with the first run of the game in the third inning. He singled, stole second, and came home on Al Taylor‘s double. _ Winning pitcher Byron Demoe allowed eight hits. Yantzi, the loser, gave up nine. _ Robertson went to third on that play, then scored on a base hit. Mike Near had led off the eighth inning with a single. He took second on a fielder‘s choice, then advanced to third on a single by Mike Pedersen. Back to back singles in the seventh by Peter Rupcic and Barry Robertson helped set up the winning run. The players reached second and third on a fielder‘s choice before Rupcic was picked off on a suicide bunt attempt. | When Pedersen tried to steal second, the throw by catcher John Dakin was quick enough to catch him and keep Near from scoring. Jay Fiocca gave the St. Catharâ€" ines Ovations one run in the fifth.
