PAGE 46 â€" WATERLOO CHRONICLE, WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 30. 1987 Sandra Moffat of the Women‘s Softball Condors, recorded 24 strikeâ€"outs in two games, leading her team to two 2â€"1 victories in Ontario Colleges Athietic Association (OCAA) Western Division Play last week. Moffat is 18 years old, and a graduate of Bluevale Collegiate. She is currently enrolled in the first year of the Business Administrationâ€"Accounting program at the Doon Campus. Ron Taylor of the Men‘s Softball Condors was named athlete of the week for his hitting and team leadership during the Loyalist College invitational tournament, where the Condors finished second. Taylor, a native of Waterloo, is enrolled in the first year of the Business Administrationâ€"Materiâ€" als Management Program at the Gueliph Campus. The Women‘s Softball Condors find themselves in first place after the first week of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Western Division Schedule. Last Tuesday, Condors defeated Sheridan Colâ€" lege 2â€"1 in Brampton. Condors scored single runs in the first and fourth innings. Lynn Thomson was the offensive hero with three hits and two RB.1.‘s. York Yeomen defeated University of Waterloo Warriors 10â€"4 Saturday in OUAA rugby action. Despite the loss, UW had its moments, and at times was a real weight for the strong York team to carry. In their first year of existence, the Men‘s Football Condors won the silver medal at the Loyalist College Invitational Tournament. At Canadore, Georgian again finished first with 339. Condors finished second with 348. Condors finished in third position in the Camâ€" brian College Invitational with a fourâ€"man team total of 342. Georgian College of Barrie finished first with 325, while Canadore finished second. Low individual score was posted by John Peeve of Canadore who carded 79. Russ Columbo was top Condor scorer with 83, while Steve Stempf scored 84, with Brian Carter and Jim Tremble scoring 87 and 88, respectively. Condors defeated St. Lawrence College 4â€"2 in the first game, as Mike Lorentz was named the game MVP. In the second game, Condors defeated Loyalist College 122 as Ken Taylor was named game MVP .
