Staff, faculty, graduates and students of Wilfrid Laurier University are working together again to present their fourth annual musical production for the campus community and the public at large on behalf of Musical Theatre Laurier. It‘s North Bay to Broadway I in upcoming Laurier review . This year‘s hourâ€"long show is an original review, titled From North Bay to Broadway, written and directed by Dr. Leslie O‘Dell of Laurier‘s English department, who launched the successful fall shows when she arrived on campus a little more than four years ago. The show will open Sept. 24 in the University‘s Theatre Auditorium, despite construction in that area of the new John Aird Centre, with a performance at 8 p.m. It will continue Sept. 25 and 26 with performances at 8 and 10 p.m. Reserved seating is available at $5 per ticket and $3 for general admission and are available from the student information booth, or at the Kitchenerâ€"Waterloo Chamber Music Society, having presented one young German chamber orchestra in July, presents anâ€" other Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. at Alumnus Deborah Ludolph, appearing again this year, will play the lead in the story about a young and ambitious woman who leaves her successful amateur career in small town Ontario to seek fame, fortune and star status on the Broadway stage. Parkminster United Church when the Karlsruhe University Orchestra will perform under the direction of Dr. Dieter Koehnâ€" Acclaimed German group to perform lein. Koehnlein has the distinction of being a physicist by training, and his remarkable orchestra in this "‘musicâ€"departmentless‘‘ univerâ€" sity consists of expert amateurs, both students and faculty, who simply love to play. This is the second North Amerâ€" ican tour by the orchestra, which has also toured Europe twice as well as performing in various parts of Europe. Although the full orchestra of 50 players is on tour, Monday‘s concert will feaâ€" ture a smaller group in the excellent acoustic of Parkminâ€" ster church. On the program are works by Mozart (Divertiento in D); Weber (Oboe Concertino); Humâ€" mel (Octet); Elgar (Sewrenade for Strings) and Bach (Concerto for two violins in d).
