Megan Mitchell and Dave Gould are our new mayor and deputy mayor. Athletic commissioners are Bill Gurney and Beth Christensen. The new Board of Control consists of Andrew Swain, Rakesh: Metzger, Cam Mott, Allison Barnum, Alex Heath, and Deanna Golem. At the University of Waterioo last week WCI students once again illustrated that we are the best. In the University of Waterloo French Contest, Rena Elfeki placed first and Verlisa Lee placed second while competing against 160 students from high schools in 13 counties in southern Ontario. Rena and Verlisa both win a trip to France this summer for their achievement. The Viking of the Week is Jill Gelinas. Jill is very much an allâ€"around student. She competed in WCSSAA, CWOSSA, OFSAA and the provincial championships for gymnastics as well as maintaining a 90% average. Next year, Jill will be going to Australia as part of the Rotary Exchange.
