In league play on Thursday, Knights hammered Glenview Park Panthers 61â€"32 for their third win in their third start of the season. Golden Gaels led the tourâ€" nament championship game 34â€"28 at halftime but Knights took a hard run at them in the second half. "It was a spirited second half comeback on our part," said Knights‘ coach Bob Pagan, "but we were unable to convert an opportunity or two that we had at the end. "(Golden Gaels) are very deep and they have some talented ball players. We were very happy with the fact that we could stick together and work to come back. We could have gotten down but we didn‘t." Thursday, Knights lost 6â€"5 forâ€" ward Cam Thomas for about a week due to a dislocated finger. Slethaug led Knights in scoring with 23 points and Kemperman added 10. Sean Carmichael was Raiders‘ MVP in the consolation game. Steve Seibert led Knights with 40 points in the three tournament games and he was closely folâ€" lowed by Venroy Marshall with 39. Harry Kemperman scored 33 and Gavin Slethaug added 31. Slethaug was Knights‘ MVP in the game with J.F. Ross and Dalton Duckett took similar honors in the Collingwood game which also saw Jason Poag and Paul Battler get some floor time. The championship game ended with Tony Marshall as Knights‘ MVP while Garnet Richards was chosen as most valuable player for the Golden Gaels.
