The Lion Rampant Accordion Band of Kitchen- er-Waterloo won recognition not only for itself but also for the Twin Cities during its recent whirlwind tour of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. ln visits to Saint John, N.B. and Yarmouth, N.S. the Lion Rampant Band participated in the Empire Loyalist Day parade and 225th Anniversary and Sea Fest. not only acting as diplomats of K-W, but also presenting mementoes and picking up awards themselves. The Band, unique in that it is one of few marching accordion bands in North America, was formed in 1978 and has a marching unit of 30 in this, its seventh full parade season. It is a self-support- ing organization and band members, who range in age from six to 65, paid for transportation to the east coast while accommodation was provided by parade hosts.
