A ‘"Lodging House Class One" is defined as a Lodging House where four or more people are harboured, received or lodged in a dwelling unit in addition to the proprietor and his family related by blood or marriage or adoption, or six or more persons are harboured received or lodged. A ‘"Lodging House Class Two‘" is defined as a Lodging House where four or five persons are harboured, received or lodged without a proprietor. The Byâ€"law requires a proprietor to apply for a licence by October 1st, 1986 and a renewal no later than April 30th of each following year. Acknowledgement of an application to licence will require the lodging house to comply with the Zoning Byâ€"law, the Fire Code and certain sections of the Property Standards Byâ€"law and inspections will be conducted to ensure compliance within a reasonable time. The licence fee is $50.00 (fifty dollars). Application forms may be obtained at Waterloo City Hall, Finance Department, Marsland Centre, Waterloo, 2nd Floor.
