The Youth Championships is a national championship meet atâ€" tracting about 600 swimmers from across Canada. Boys 15 and under and girls 13 and under who make the tough qualifying times are eligible to compete. _ The meet will also be a qualifyâ€" ing event to form a national youth team of six boys and six girls to represent Canada at the Solar Super Cup in Darmstadst, West Germany, July 11â€"13. Team members will compete against teams from Europe as well as the Commonweailth team from Australia. 8 swimmers to attend youth meet Tyler Clair, 15, the national age group record holder in both the 100 and 200 metre backâ€" stroke, will be a strong contender for the youth team, having qualiâ€" fied last year when the tea competed in France. Stephen Hulford, 14, and C tario age group record holder the 200 butterfly, will also competing along with Don 4 drews. Ron Forest, Marc Sha John Dolynchuk, Kara and Shannon Higgins. Coach Dean Boles will leave for Winnipeg with his team on Thursday.
