PAGE 14 - WATERLOO CHROMCLE. WEDNESDAY. Chronicle Staff There's every indication that 1986 will be a banner year for residential co.nstruction in Waterloo. PERMS ttus According to members of the Local Archi- tectural Conservation Advisory Committee, 1886 was as significant in the Town of Waterloo's past - a year which also saw a tremendous leap in housing starts. A search through local assessment rolls for 1886 shows that 59 homes were built in 1886, making them 100 years old this year, says LACAC chairman David White. "We thought it would be nice if we told the people who owned these homes that their properties were mo years old," White said. "Mmy are aware, many don't know, many don t care. We Just wanted to tell them - it's a question of education and outreach." LACAC is a volunteer committee appointed by the City of Waterloo to work for the preservation of 1yaterloo's heritage and to inform residents of that heritage.
