PAGE 30 â€" WATERLOO CHRONICLE, WEDNESDAY, MAY 22. Richard O‘Brien Chronicle Staft There have been some retirements and some players have moved on to other teams, but Waterloo Ghosts field manager Pete Mcllwraith has had some difficult decisions to make at training camp. While players have left, others are trying out and they‘ve looked so good it‘s been hard to choose between them. "In all the years I‘ve been coaching this is the hardest year I‘ve had for making cuts," said Mcllwraith. ‘"We‘ve had all good kids out."‘ Ghosts have seven new faces â€" one of them a surprise â€" in their lineup. Gail Bauermann, a pitcher for Milverton and St. Clements before she went out to Saskatchewan a couple of years ago, will join Ghosts at the end of June. "Everybody‘s wondering how we signed her," said Mcllwraith. "The (Kitchener) Kieswetters are asking all kinds of questions because they tried to get her." Four juniorâ€"age players â€" Kim Legge, Karen Miller, Ann Prince and Jackie Stockie â€" are among the new faces. Others are Dee Feeney from the Kâ€"W ladies league and Tracey Fowler from Willowdale. Ghosts have suffered one blow, losing Nancy Lanteigne, their top hitter from last season. Lanteigne broke an ankle in practice and will miss the entire season. _ Also missing are Ann Leslie and Patti Jo Mcintosh. Both have gone on to play for Milâ€"Dor Twins. F?W('% GET YOUR â€" sAz aff."
