Take them to a UW Humanities Theatre attraction, Lesiey Anderson would tell you. Anderson, of the UW Arts Centre, began launching group sales of tickets for the Theatre in February. She said there will be substantial discounts for those who take their groups to the theatre, describing the launching of group sales as a way of reaching out to the community. *"*We haven‘t been too aware of groups in the past going to the Theatre and we haven‘t really had a group sales campaign," she said. "It seems groups in the community were expressâ€" ing an interest in coming to our attractions as a group, but we had never set down a discount price for groups for individual shows."‘ An example Anderson gave for discounts was the upcoming Murray McLauchlan show Feb. 15. She said regular price for adults was $9.50 and for students and seniors $8.00. With the group discount adults would be paying $8.00 and students and seniors $6.50. "Our group sales policy is that groups of 10 or more people are eligible. They simply have to identify one key person from the group who is responsible for collecting the money from the group and arranging to pay for the tickets a couple of days before the show."‘ Anderson is trying to increase the community groups‘ awareness that live entertainment is available to them. She has been sending letters to all groups in town and giving them informaâ€" tion regarding discount prices, information about the actual shows and their group sales policy. _ She has been talking to senior groups and various clubs, community organizations, busiâ€" ness groups and conventions. C "A lot of conventions are in town and they don‘t know where they can take their group, so they just stay in their hotel room," explained Anderson. In conjunction with the launching of group sales of tickets, there will be more advertising and the ads will include what the group discounts are. They also have a BASS ticket outlet now, which Anderson said helps. Anderson said they are: now â€" organizing attractions for the next season "with a view to attractions which will appeal to large groups." . According to Anderson, there are a lot of shows coming up now that will appeal to large groups, including Foolsfire which will appear March 22 and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society April 10, 11, 12 and 13. _ *‘*People can now get tickets just by phoning BASS and using their credit card numbers." 885â€"4281.
