Wednesday, Feb. 27, 7: 30 to 9: 30 p.m. _ _ â€" A topic which proved highly popular in the fall session concentration training and performance improvement will be brought back in the personal development series and expanded into a fourâ€"week program. It will be offered Tuesdays, Feb. 12 to March 5, 7: 30 to 10 p.m. Other courses in the series include assertiveness training for adults, a sixâ€"week session Mondays, Feb. 7 to March 14, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Stress Management, a fourâ€"week program, Mondays, Feb. 11 to March 4, 8 to 10 p.m. The Y also provides fitness class orientation sessions along with fitness testing and counselling for those who would like to take a fitness course but are uncertain what to expect. The sessions will take place periodically throughout February. Other fitness programs include a Winter Running Clinic to take place Wednesday, Feb. 6, 7 to 9 p.m. and exercise classes for expectant mothers throughout March and April. The Prevention series will be highlighted by two programs, one a twoâ€"hour workshop on sports injuries. Designed to appeal to runners, coaches and fitness leaders, it will be conducted by Brian Farrance, head trainer at University of Waterloo Sports Injury Clinic. Thursday, Feb. 21, 7 to 9 The second, a sixâ€"week session entitled Back Care the Y‘s Way is a revamped Y program that will offer information and suggestions on exercise programs for those suffering from chronic back pain. Sessions Wednesday, Feb. 14 to March 21, 7: 30 to 9 p.m. will be conducted by two qualified physical therapists. _ Rounding out the program will be first aid/CPR courses offering certification in Red Cross Emergency First Aid and Basic Heart Saver CPR Feb. 9, 10, 23 and 24. A final course, which doesn‘t seem to fall into any category, is Loving Hands, an introduction to the basics of Massage Therapy, conducted by Maureen Sirrs, a registered massage therapist.
