escrnitzecl Haus Attempting to foster greater understanding between Indian and Canadian cultures is a major goal of the Kâ€"W India Canada Association, which Saturday night held a program at Victoria Park Pavilion in honor of India‘s 36th anniversary of independence from British rule. The program included dancing, music, short skits and speeches, including one from Association president Shanta Dubey, who, while pleased with the turnout of 250 remarked that the group must work hard to acquaint Canadians with the type of event being held. Among the dancers were sisters Amrita (left) and Anjali Varma. The sisters now live in Ottawa but were thrilled and honored to return to Kâ€"W to perform, especially since Amrita is a native of Waterioo. _â€"_â€"_â€"â€"â€"â€"Hier Kocht der Chef Noch Selbst â€"â€"â€"â€" LIVE ENTERTAINMENT FRI, SAT & SUN.
