Pat Arbuckle photo Pat Arbuckle Chronicle Staff Infusing other people with the joy of working with the Catholic Women‘s League is the goal of the new president of the Hamilton Diocese, Dorothy Bird of Waterloo. CWL organization extremely rewarding Bird was elected Sunday at the 63rd annual convention of the Hamilton Diocesan Council of the Catholic Women‘s League held this weekend at the Waterloo Inn. "If you are not enjoying working in the Catholic Women‘s League, you are not doing it properly," said Bird. "It‘s a very rewarding orâ€" ganization."‘ Bird should know about the rewards of the league for she has been involved in the CWL organization since emigrating to Canada from England in 1950. A former teacher of home economics for the Waterloo County Separate School Board, she has also served as viceâ€"presiâ€" dent, corresponding secretary and convenor for the Diocesan executive. As president, Bird sees her responsibilities as mainly organizational â€" making arrangements for upcoming meetings and conventions, giving advice and support to other members of the executive and speaking in parish meetings throughout the Diocese. One of her first duties will be to represent the Diocese as a voting delegate at the CWL provincial convention to be held at the Valhalla Inn in Kitchener in July. "One of my priorities is to see us working closely together, having parishes realize that the Diocesan executive is working for them to help them do their job. If I can convince them of that, I feel our organization will be better for it," she said. Other members of the new executive are Monica McColl, ï¬?st viceâ€"president, Evelyn Robson, second viceâ€"president, Mary Lou Shipâ€" pling, treasurer, Evlyn Sorbara, corresponding Gala anniversary planned for Wing Ladies Auxiliary Thanks to the spirit and dedication of some 25 charter members, the Kâ€"W Wing 404 RCAFA Ladies Auxiliary held its first meetâ€" ing May 7, 1958. â€" .
