Volunteers will canvass at different malis as well as in uptown Waterloo. This year‘s Flowers of Hope campaign will begin this Saturday The purpose of the fund â€"raising campaign is to support the Kâ€"W Habilitation Services for the Retarded which is responsible for the following programs and facilities: Kinsmen Centre Workshop, Kins men Centre Florists, family serâ€" vices, Developmental Centre, recreational and educational proâ€" grams, and residential programs. The K W Habilitation Services is co ordinal ing the local campaign and events, and in sup port. Zehr‘s will be distributing specially printed shopping bags On Tuesday, May 4. the New Hamburg Haâ€" bilitation Workshop will hold an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. The Kinsmen Centre Workshop, Kitchener, is also planning an open house on May 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. A bowling tournaâ€" ment is planned for May 6 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Towne Bowl, Kitchener. Approxiâ€" mately 220 mentally handicapped from the Kâ€"W area will particiâ€" pate. Then on May . the David Fisher resiqence in Waterloo plans an open house Mayor Marjorie Carâ€" roll and Honorary Chairman Hunter Brown will begin the tournament at approxiâ€" mately 9:30 a.m. A surprise guest is scheâ€" duled to make presenâ€" tations at conciusion of the tournament. The event is sponâ€" sored by Kâ€"W Kinsmen Club, and 16 teams have been invited from the region to particiâ€" pate. A song and dance night is scheduled for May 3 at 7:30 p.m., at Knights of Columbus. Kitchener. In addition to the campaign, various ac tivities will be held during Flowers of Hope Week. On May 1, a regional floor hockey tournament will take place at 9 a.m. at Waterloo Arena. A mailing program will begin this week as well. Households will receive an envelope containing a package of seeds with planting instructions and are turn envelope to use for their donations from May 2 to May 8. Volunteers will give out marigeld seeds with planting instruc tions.
