Senior women‘s cage title on ' the line Saturday |;; The Ontario Senior ‘A‘ Women‘s Basketâ€" ball Championship will be held on Saturday, February 20 at Caâ€" meron Heights colleâ€" giate in Kitchener. The three team tournament will feature a highly competitive schedule with the Kitchenerâ€"Waâ€" terloo Reivers, defendâ€" ing champions, serving as tournament hosts. The Reivers will have plenty of competiâ€" tion from the Toronto Official Sports Centre and the Niagara Cheroâ€" kees from St. Cathâ€" arines. Both teams hold small margin vicâ€" tories over the Reivers. Last week Waterloo Discos made it to the petite semiâ€"finals of the Kitchener Ringette tournament. Reivers are led by Yonna Sutton, Kathy Martinson and Sue Porter, returning members of last year‘s Discos first game saw them dump Lonâ€" don 8â€"4. They then went up against Etobico and won 9â€"4, and continued their winning ways edging Sudbury 5â€"4. Discos‘ luck ran out in semiâ€"final play howevâ€" er when they dropped a 6â€"3 decision to Kitchenâ€" er Monica Conners and Wendy Dietrich were superb as usual in net for Waterloo, and Discos received fine defensive efforts from Julie Taylor, Colleen Dietrich, Jennifer Israel and Vanessa Stack.
