This second orchestra, known as the Symphonia Anima- ta. will be continued in 1982, giving more musicians an oppor- tunity to take advantage of the training program. At the audition each musician plays technical exercises, ex- cerpts from the orchestral reper- toire and a short solo. The audition is structured as an educational experience in itself, the requirements of which are similar to a professional orcher tra audition. All young musicians who are citizens or residents of Canada are encouraged to par- ticipate as these auditions are a valuable challenge for players at all levels of ability.
