In addition to the $1,300 raised during last weekend‘s garage sale at the school, money was raised Tuesday through *"Beat the Pro‘‘ (teacher) athletic competiâ€" tions, darts, coin toss, and other games of chance. But the chairs had more than one purpose as many students stayed on to compete in a fun episode of ‘"‘"musical chairs‘ to help kick off three hours of carnival activity. ® The purpose of the venture which included both staff and students was to raise money for the students‘ council and more specifically to help fund a trip to Winnipeg for 60 students of various organizations on the Christmas break. Firstâ€"year principal Norma Grant cut free the balloons to open the carnival, and it was obvious from the jovial attitude that all thoroughly enjoyed themâ€" selves at the "first decade‘‘ celebration. 10’9 Craig Hendry (centre) was so eager to grab a chair that he almost fell overboard during the musical chair event. . Bluevale principal Norma Grant officially opened the school‘s 10th anniversary carnival Tuesday.
