The tournament was divided into A and B Divisions with 3 Groups in the A Division and 4 Groups in the B Diâ€" vision. The Cubs were placed in the A Division, Group 2 along with Buriâ€" In the first round of play each Group played a roundâ€"robin series. The Cubs first game was against ington, Oshawa and Toronto Red Cubs Consol Grand Champion Oshawa opened the scoring at 2:52 with a goal by Robbie Linton from Mike Cole. Robie Bishop gave Oshaâ€" wa a 20 lead with his goal at 3:59 from John McArthur. Chuck Dietrich put the Cubs on the scoreboard with his 25th goal of the season at 6:46 unassisted. Both teams were kept off the scoreboard for the rest of the game to give Oshawa the 21 win. â€" _ For their second game the Cubs met Burlington. & The Cubs opened the scoring at 7:05 with a goal by Jeff Clugston from Tim Allensen and John East. Dwayne Nedelko scored 52 seconds into the third period from Darren Whalley and Jeff Periey to tie the game at 2â€"2. The Cubs scored a goal in each period while holding the Red Wings scoreless to take the 3â€"0 win. Jeff clugston scored the first goal at 2: 19 of the first period from Tim Allenâ€" sen and Brad Kit. Saints played their best game of the tournament against Brantford. The game featured fast skating and some excellent passing. After taking a twoâ€"goal lead Waterloo watched Brantford bounce back for three and the win. Brad Haelzle scored both Waâ€" terloo goals in one of his best games of the year. The four goals on the weekend included his 50th and gave him a total of 54 goals in 54 games. a wellâ€"deserved achievemnent.
