Meeting them for the first time this season, the War- riors ruined Stratford's un- beaten record. Waterloo is now only one point behind them. In the past two seasons, as minor and major pee wees, a win against Strat- ford has always eluded the Warriors. About 59 sec- onds into the second period, they equalized with a goal from Roy Russell assisted by Dave Brubaker and most of their remaining games to end up on top against Stratford, Simcoe and Hespeler. With less that 11 minutes left in the game, Stratford was unable to get past the Warrior goal tender, Scott Baird. On Nov. 30, the War- riors went on the road again to Simcoe. After their ex- citing game on Monday, the Warriors found it very hard to get up for the game. Woodstock man- aged to keep the score at 3-2 early in the third period. ,6 l7 On Dec. 4, the Warriors played another away game against Kitchener CTA in exhibition play. Playing a superb passing game, the Warriors were wo goals ahead at the end of the first period. Scorers were Rus- sell from Mio and. Dave Brubaker from Chris Lang and Russell. In the second period, Kit- chener retrieved one goal. The Warriors beat the Kit- chener goalie another three times. Goals went to Pern- fuss. Russell and Mio. As- Waterloo then started to work together to score Woodstock 4-1 in the re- maining minutes of the game. Final score was 7-3. The line of Paul Dahmer, Steve Graf and Murray Campbell accounted for seven of the team's 12 goals in two games. Graf missed the Wood- stock game due to a one game suspension, but made up for it by scoring two goals and two assists against Galt. Dahmer is starting to find the target. He picked up two goals and was hampered in his attempts for more by spending three penalties off the ice. The Saints travelled to Simcoe Nov. 30 and came away with a 3-2 victory. Goals for Waterloo were scored by Randy Weller. Scott Clugston, and Peter Bauer. Assists went. to Bauer. Kevin McGraw and Weller. Simcoe goals went to J. A. Sullivan, assisted by Tom Reidy. Goal-tenders Dave Jensen and Dean Fielding shared the win for Waterloo. On Dec. 2, Waterloo hosted Woodstock and played to a 3-3 tie. Waterloo goals were scored by Mike Ruppe, Rod Doucette and Brian Keller. Assists went to Compton team posts 2 victories The Waterloo Minor Mid- gets narrowly defeated the Minor Midgets from Brant- ford in a game played at Waterloo Arena November 30. Brantford scored the first goal of the game in the opening minutes of the third period and held their lead until 6.41 when Chris Ford tied the score on a pass from Tom Abbott. The winning goal, scored by Tom Woinoski, came with Waterloo enjoying a man advantage and 35 seconds showing on the clock. Assists went to Ron Sosnoski and Chris Ford. Although only eleven shots were fired at the Waterloo net, Don Beaupre made key saves to hold the visitors to one goal, On December 2. the Compton Motors All Stars travelled to Don MacLaren Saints win "t2, slats went to Mia, Russell anitFedy.' The sixth Waterloo goal was hammered past the Kit- chener goal-tender by Rich Preston from Russell and Lang with only 38 seconds The final Midas goal was scored from a play that set up Lang from Russell. Kitchener managed to beat Waterloo's goal-tender one more time and the Warriors had another fine win under their belts. The final score was 7-2. Terry Calder was the lead- ing scorer with one goal and five assists for the two games. Mark Welsh, Rob Richardson and Randy Chilton had one goal and Roland DeGraauw, who last year was fourth in sc0r- ing for the Midgets, scored his first goal of the season. Waterloo's next game is Thursday night at 9 p.m. in Waterloo arena. Water- loo will be challenged by Stratford. The Midgets must win this game to stay in the race for first place in the hub league. Both goal- ies for Waterloo were cred- ited for the win. - Arena for a game against the Kitchener minor mid- gets. The Waterloo players exhibited great discipline as they downed the Home team by a score of 4 to 2. Gary Gardner showed the benefits reaped from work- ing the corners as he re- trieved a puck in this man- ner and received an assist on Waterloo‘s first goal scored by Dave Robb. An assist on the first goal also went to Tom Woinoski. Paul Reitzel protected the nets for Waterloo and was called upon to make a couple of key saves. Other goals for Waterloo were scored by Rob Filiatrault, Dave Adlys and Tim Allan. The Waterloo Midgets were rejoined In a practice December 4 by Cam Ford.
