He organized the Kitchenerâ€"Waterloo branch of the Ontario Regâ€" istered â€" Music Teachers‘ Association and the Berlin Sy mphony _ Orchestra, which he directed. He was the leader of the 29th Regiâ€" ment Band of the Scots Fusiâ€" liers of Canada, and of the Kitchener â€" Ladies â€" Band and the first Kitchener Boys George Pattinson, inâ€" dustrialist of Preston, was a native of England, like his grandfather before him was connected with the woollen industry from an early age. Mr. Ziegler served on the Faculity of Music, Uniâ€" versity of Toronto, and on the board of the Western Onâ€" tario Conservatory of Music. GEORGE PATTINSON (1854â€"1931) He was associated with the mill of James Crombie and Company, (later Robinsonâ€"Howell and Comâ€" pany) and became a busiâ€" ness partner. _ With new owners the firm became Fergusonâ€"Pattinson _ Comâ€" pany and in 1920 the business was known as the George Pattinson â€" Limited, with him as president. THOMAS JOSEPH (TIM) TVUROW (1908â€" ) â€" Born in the Ukraing in 1908, Turow arrived in Preston in 1914. His life reâ€" volved around sport, first as a player and later as an orâ€" ganizer, coach and execuâ€" tive. As a player, he exâ€" celled in football, baseball and hockey. For 20 years, Turow was a competent baseball umpire. In 1948 he won the Ontario Fiveâ€"Pin singles bowling championâ€" ship, a most difficult achievement. Turow was president of the Intercounty Baseball Association and also the Intercounty Umpires Asâ€" sociation. For many years he was an executive memâ€" ber of each of these long established â€" organizations. In addition he was deeply involved in sports organizaâ€" tions in Preston as an orâ€" ganizer, manager and coach for many years. He lived in Galt from 1903 to 1923 and has been a resident of Stratâ€" ford for over 50 years. Dolson was an allâ€"round athlete, _ specializing in hockey, baseball and soccer. As a goal keeper, he played several years for the Galt Junior and Intermediate O.H.A. teams and then with the Stratford Indians of the Senior O.H. A. * He turned professional in 1927 with the Detroit Falâ€" cons (later renamed Red Wings) of the National Hockey League. He played four seasons in the N.H.L. before joining the London in the City of Cambridge. Tecumsehs. of the Interâ€" national Hockey league for one season. His active caâ€" reer ended when he played one year for the Cleveland Barons, also of the Interâ€" national League. CARL LISCOMBE (1914 ) Carl Liscombe was born in Perth, Ontario and arâ€" rived in Galt a year later. He became proficient in all sports and was outstanding in hockey. He played O.H.A. hockey with Gailt junior and intermediate teams and senior with Hamilton Tigers where he was the leading scorer. Lisâ€" combe then played nine full seasons with the Detroit EDWARD (DOLLY) DOLSON (1897â€" ) Red Wings of the National Hockey League. In his first full season with Detroit, Liscombe led the club in scoring and was runnerâ€"up in the selection of the league‘s ‘"Rookieâ€"ofâ€" the Year‘‘ award. In 1939 he set an N.H.L recordâ€"which stood for 14 years for the ELLIOT IRWIN McLOUGHRY (1894â€" ) ed"*. Liscombe set another record, which he held for points in a single game. In three years, when he accuâ€" the most valuable player for the Red Wings. Liscombe finished out 15 years of professional hockey with the Providence Reds of the American Hockey League. He was twice electâ€" ed the league‘s most valâ€" uable player. On one ocâ€" casion, he set a league record by getting 118 points. Elliot Irwin McLoughry, B.S.A., was born in Grey County _ and _ graduated from Ontario Agricultural College in 1922. He was an Assistant Agriâ€" cultural Representative in several Ontario Counties, Agricultural _ Representaâ€" tive Waterloo County from 1924 to 19%1, Associate Director of Extension, Onâ€" tario Agricultural College in 1921 and Director of Exâ€" tension, Ontario Departâ€" ment of Agriculture in 1964; He conducted _ school fairs and helped organize a conservation day at many schools.
