__ Learning disabled kids get camp For the first time this year, children with learnâ€" ing disabilities in the Twin Cities will have an opporâ€" tunity to go to camp. A special day camp, deâ€" signed for children with learning _ disabilities, _ is being sponsored by the Kâ€"W Association for Chilâ€" dren with Learning Disâ€" abilities in â€" cooperation with the KW _ Kiwanis Club. The day camp will be operated during July and August at St. Francis Separate school, corner of The â€" Kitchener _ Bach Choir will present a spring concert May 15 at Parkâ€" minster â€" United church, Waterloo. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for stuâ€" dents and senior citizens. The concert begins at 8:30 p.m. _ Tickets are availâ€" able at the door. Bach choir has concert Queen and _ Westmount Streets in Kitchener. © Two threeâ€"week camp sessions will be held with enrolment limited to 40 children per session. Camp â€" director _ Fred Gore says the camp will benefit children who are clumsy, or have trouble channelling their muscular activities, â€" children who have few friends and a poor self image and chilâ€" dren who have found a regâ€" ular camp situation stressâ€" ful or overwhelming. The camp is also designed for minimally and moderately learning disabled children. The day camp will have a staffâ€"camper ratio of 1:2 and a professional staff with experience in teachâ€" ing learning disabled chilâ€" dren. One of the aims of the day camp is to help chilâ€" dren return to school with the skills and confidence to join class mates on the playground and in comâ€" munity sports. The day camp will: be ‘held July 523 and August 3â€"20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. _ Registration fees session for members of the Association for Chilâ€" dren with Learning Disâ€" abilities. Fees for nonâ€" members are $7. Con sideration will. be given to The highlight of the gathâ€" ering was the selection of Joan Westcott of Kitchâ€" ener to be second viceâ€"presiâ€" dent of the provincial orâ€" ganization. Fay Calnek of Waterloo was selected to be a provincial director. Twentyâ€"three women eleâ€" mentary â€" school â€" teachers from <~Waterloo County atâ€" tended the annual spring assembly of region two of the Federation of Women Teachers® Associations of Ontario May 1 in Shelâ€" burne.
