The city eugintier's pro- posal for. road work on William Street included 38 reef from ts feet. in- stalling five, foot sidewglks to mixture mt four {not walks. installing road hue. asphalt pavement and concrete curbs and replac- ing storm sewers as re? quired. This work would cost each homeowner an estimated annual cost of $4.72 per foot of street frontage. Bob Rowen. of 131 William St. West, said there was no need to widen that section of William Street by seven feet since very little traffic uses the street. He said wid- ening the street would also result in the houses on the North side of William being too close to the new side walk. As a result, the own- ers would lose their privacy and the value of the proper- ties would probably de- cline, he said. 7 paying $3.74 per foot of frontage for 10. years, the residents would pay $1.95 per foot of frontage under the second proposal.
