Some of Canada's oldest audio-visual equipment is presently on display at the University of Guelph in an exhibition or- ganized by the university's audio visual office. Most of the equipment in the exhibition is on loan from the photo-historical collection at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, the Guelph Civic Museum, the Ontario ministry of agricul- ture and food, and the Uni- versity of Guelph. The exhi- bition is located in the uni- versity's arts building until Apri122. Included in the display are two cylinder phonographs; a wire recorder; magic lan- terns dating from 1849 util- izing coal oil acetylene gas, and carbon arc; film camera and projectors including early Bell and Howell and Kodak models as well as a French-made 28 mm. pro- jector complete with hand crank and battery bulb.
