"tt's-tistt.12 "tat 2h.” One paper ' is enough Dear Sir: The proposal of Grand River Cable TV to delete WNED (Channel 17) from its regular service seems to have receivefvery little attention in the press in this area. WNED broad- casts many distinctive and fine programs and has been the original source in this area of programs which subsequently be- came widely acclaimed, such as Sesame Street and Civilization. Grand River's proposal would force those wishing to continue re- ceiving WNED to pay a monthly surcharge. This seems to me to be very unfair to WNED itself, to those who enjoy this channel, and, especially, to those in this area who have Save channel 17 KW. My address is: 51 George Ct., Waterloo, Ont. Thank you. I have made a detailed study of the programs on all channels presently a- vailable on Grand River Cable, and have formulated an alternative proposal which would accommodate both new channels and at the same 'time retain the distinctive programs of WNED on GRC's regular service. This proposal will be presented to the Canadian Radio and Tele- vision Commission at the hearing of the Commis- sion at which GRC's ap- plication will be qpnsider- ed.
