Miss Kathleen Snyder, A.T.C.M., of Kitchener addressed the New Hamâ€" burg school board regarding vocal lessons for the school pupils. The chairman and secretary were appointâ€" ed a committee to confer with the various ladies‘ organizations in New Hamburg to solicit their assitance in securing vocal training for the sehool pupils. If the weather is dry and warm it will only take about 21 days for the cement to dry for traffic, but if the weather continues the full 28 days will be required. A distinctive honor was bestowed upon Mrs. Fred Meinhardt, when she received the Cross of Honor from ie German Government for meritoriâ€" ous and valiant services as a Red C€ross Nurse during the World War. The coveted medal was forwarded to her last Monday by Dr. Kempff Gorman, consul at Montreal and is highly prized by the recipient. Mr. and Mrs. Meinhardt and their twin daughters, Marianne and Suâ€" sanah, came to Canada in 1927. They resided in Waterloo and Kitchener and then moved to New Hamburg about two years ago. & Mre. Meinhardt and the two chilâ€" dren were on a trip to Germany in the fall of 1935. She states that she found conditions in Germany much better than when she left, when Gerâ€" many was torn with near revolution, but she is glad to be back to the land of her adoption.
