Store. It has one of the amartest fronts in the city, in a splendid location. The two stores enable the firm to buy in larger quantities, and thus secure the advantage of quantity buying that onables them to offer extraordinary values at all times. i A While carrying on for some years under the old name they felt that they had outgrown both the name and the store, and plans were made to change the name to Budds Department Store, (which was done earlier this year), and to obtain a larger building and more central location at the first opportunity. That opportunity came a few months ago when the splendid large store vacated by the Eaton Groceteria became available. A longâ€"term fease was soon signed and since then the store has been.completely remodelied and rebuilt. Their first move upon taking possession was to establish buying connections with Canada‘s foremost mills, manufaeturers and jobbers, enabling them to offer the buying public of Kitchener and vicinity reputable merchandise. This, combined with courteous service, honest advertising and small profit basis of operating, has made Budds one of Kitchener‘s leading and most progressive establishments. Outstanding indeed is the service one receives at Budds, a striking tribute to Lew Budd‘s three brothers, Mort, Jack and Nat, all capable, honest, aggressive, enterprising young men, who are not only warm favorites with the regular customâ€" ers of the store, but also in the social activities of the community. Mort is the assistant manager, a very responsible position. Jack has charge of the office and advertising, and Nat is manager of the clothing department, It is through the combined efforts of the four Budd brothers that the business has grown year after year to climax now with the removal to this more spacious and central location. A review of the firm‘s history brings to the fore the fact that Lew Budd, senior member of the firm, is one of the youngest highly successful business men in our fair Dominion, Just 84 years of age, he has already proven himself a merchandiser of unusual ability. As an example of his progressiveness we can do no better than note the fact that eight years ago, while then a commercial traveller, visiting Kitchener, he was so favorably impressed with this city, that inside of 24 hours he signed an agreement with Mr. J. Davis to purchase, lock, stock and barrel, the business known as "Davis Economic Store". This action proved to be the first stepping stone in the successful history of Budd‘s Department Stores.
