i m. Feb. ‘ $.â€"Some of the shipments of cattle at the Union Stock ‘Yards yesterday were held for ‘today‘s ‘market, although the bulk of the offering was disposed of at noon. As practically all the offerings of the previous day had been sold, buyers were not bothered with stale shipments. A good steady trade was in evidence for all grades of cattle. Exporters were not active and few store cattle changed hands, with the result that most of the buying was on the part of the packâ€" ers and butchers. * A. few lots of heavy steers sold from $7 to $7.25, and choice butchers from $7 to $7.75. One bunch of nine steers averaging 1,009 pounds sold at $8.25, and some weighing just unâ€" der 1,000 pounds brought from $7 io $7.50. Medium to good killers sold from $6 to $6.85, and some odd lots of heifers from $5.75 to $7.25. The offering of cows was none too heavy and the quality was not of the best, Most of the good butcher cows sold from $4.50 to $5.30. Half a dozen brought $5.50 and the baiance sold from $3.2%5 to $4.25. Not many bulls offered for sale and they brought from $8.50 to $9.50. A few odd lots of feeders sold from $6.25 to $6.50 and a load of light stockers at $4.80. There was a steady trade in calves a few bringing $14 and the bulk moving from $12 to $13.50. Light calves sold from $10 to $11.50. Prices paid for lambs â€" were slightly lower, the best bringing Local News of Interest.
