There died at his residence, Blair, on Monday,Sept. 10,Mr. lame Stautfer, who had been a resident of the village agreat many years. Deceased had been troubled with dropey some months, but his death was not expected so soon. He was of a quiet and inof- fensive nature and will he greatly missed in the village as well as in the home. He was a native ofour county, having been born in Bridgeport in the year 1830. He was twice married. One daughter, Mrs. Hess, of Cones, togo, of the first family is still living, and of the second marriage a wid‘oW and tirt, children still survive him. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon from his lul’e residence to the Blair Cemetery. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to the bereaved; in their tsftiietion. Alter the ceremony the wedding party turned to the home of Mrs. Bechthold, where a sumptuous repast was partaken of by the many guests, and where the evening was pleasantly spent in games and music. That the bride is held in high estimation by a large circle of friends is shov'm by the number of choice and useful gifts pre- sented to her. The happy couple will reside in Mon. roe, Mich, {or which place they left followed by wishes of unbounded hap- piness and abundant prosperity. A very pleasant event took place in the Petersburg Lutheran church on Wednesday, Sept. 12th, when Miss Annie Bechthold was married to Mr. Emanuel Benz, of Monroe, Mich. The ceremony was performed by Rev. G. Lochner, of Wellesley, and Miss E. Gaukle ably presided at the organ. The bride was very becomingly at- tired in a. gown of blue cloth trimmed with braid and cream silk, and a hat of white ohimm and' tiowem. She was assisted by Miss Allinson, of Heidel- burg, who looked charming in a suit of lavender Henrietta and white satin, and the groom was supported by Mr. Wm. Beehthold, the bride’s brother.
