He had been assisting to run logs down the Saugeen for Mr. Truax and had completed the job and was on his way home when the accident took place. It seems that a strap broke while going down the hill and the horse ran away. The son, a boy of about fifteen, jumped out and broke one of his legs, but. the father hang on to the buggy and when found a Sew minutes afterwards at the foot of the enbankment, by the boy, was apparently breathing his last. _A couple of farmers carried him into Mr. Wilson‘s, but he was dead before he was got into the house, Joseph Bailey was in his 56th year and was a small boy when he came .to Bentinck with his parents.
