Mrs. Earl McLeod of Ceylon, had the misfortune to fall on the ice, on Monday, while walking to Flesherton and broke her wrist. She was taken to Markdale hospital for an Xâ€"ray examination . Those who attended the funeral from a distance were Will and Jim Oliver, Detroit; Mrs. Ferris and R. Meads, Toronto; Jim Turner, Shelâ€" burne; Ivan and R. J. Turner, Droâ€" more . Interment was made cemetery . The funeral of the late Gladys OIâ€" iver was held from her home, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Oliver‘s on Saturday last, when Rev Mr Moir preached a comforting message to the bereayâ€" ed ones. Gladys, who was highly reâ€" spected and much loved by all who knew her, will be much missed. A little over a year ago, she was takâ€" en to the Sanatarium in Hamilton . She was 28 years of age. A large crowd gathered to hear the children recite and sing, which was all well done. By the time the program was over, the children were getting anxious to have the gifts on the tree distributed also the bags of candies. Everyone was well pleased with what Santa Claus brought. $5.75 was taken in. Lunch was served at the close. Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Greig had dinâ€" ner with Mrs. E. Dargavel on Sunday Miss M. MciIntosh is not improving as quickly as we would like to see, but we hope in a few weeks she will be able to get out again. It being the annual meet‘ng, the following officers were elected: Pres. â€" Mrs, McQuarrie; 1st Viceâ€"Prestâ€" dentâ€"Mrs A. Boyd; 2nd Viceâ€"Pres.â€" Mrs. Vessie; Sec‘yâ€"Treas, Miss C. Fletcher. The Lord‘s Prayer in uniâ€" son closed the meeting. The January meeting will be held in the church. All members are asked to attend. The W.M.S. of Burns‘ Church held their Dec. meeting at the home of Mrs H. McDonald. _ The president, Mrs J. McKechnie, conducted the meeting, and opened with singing bymn 419. Mrs McQuarrie led in prayer and Mrs McKechnie read the scripture lesson. Roll call was ansâ€" ‘wered by a verse containing the word "rock." Master Bob Rumble, Toronto, is holidaying with his grandparents, Mr and Mrs Robt. Lawson. Santa Claus got a real welcome in town on Saturday afternoon, as the children from far and near were there.
