ROWE Corn â€" Feed" for Oats at our Elevator Special Reduction ql!t ?uzlgam Review â€"â€"Much satistaction is expressed that the German raider, Kron Prinz Wilhelm has sought refuge in Newâ€" port News, an American port. . We think there should be anxiety as to how she managed to get in, while British warships were supposed to be watching that yery harbor. In the past eight months she has saunk 15 ships, 13 of them British. â€"A reliet ship, filying the American fag, was sunk by a German submarâ€" ine, and she carrying New York State‘s first cargo of gifts. â€"To poison wells is always reckonâ€" ed pure barbarism. It is reported the 5ermnn are doing this in South Atfrica. Anything goes with Prussian militarism, torpedoing ships under neatral flags carrying women and children, dropping bombs on nonâ€" combatants, etc. â€"The Dominion has now 101,500 men under arms at home and abroad and this may be increased by 50000. Sailing date of 2n0d Contingent has been fixed. The delay was due to unreadiness to receive them across the water. â€"The Prinee of Wales has been severely censured by a courtâ€"martial for resisting a superior officer, who was aboot to shoot a German spy. The Prince said he was no spy and took him off. The prinee was right, it tarned out and the man â€"is now a prisoner, with we should say a warm spot in his heart to the fature King of Englard, â€"** A certain liveliness " at politiâ€" eal headquarters seems to indicata an approaching election. Now Mr Borden baven‘s we war enough at present without plunging al)! Canada into the mud of a political war ? An election is due in Britain this year, but they are putting it off a year. An election is due in Canada in Sept., 1916, and will our rulers be mad enough to hasten it by a year ? It would be a crime. â€"â€"** Borden Backs Britainâ€"" seems to be a new slogan of the Conservaâ€" tive party, plainly implying the libâ€" eral party do not. In viewof raised taxes against British goods, the sc« gan might be trutbtally amended and the alliteration retained by " Borden Bleeds Britain." â€"Sad revelations being made at O:taw â€" of grafs in the supply ing of eur patriotic soldiers with bad boots and binoculars, of faulty medicines. ot poor horses, in one case a bhorse was accepied, that was rejected it is alleged on account of age as the time ot tne Boer war! â€"Both parties at O.taw« are planâ€" ning how to give the vote to* soldiers in the trenches | _ With no intention of belittling the braye men there, we think this is a pi»â€"ce of unnecessary work. They cananot possibly in their streuuous life follow the political isâ€" sues of the day, â€" Grits as well as torâ€" ies are fightiing he Empire‘s battles, let them be considered paired off, and so save a lot of suspiciouns maâ€" chinery for taking the vote, and conâ€" veying the ballots to the respective ridings of Canada. Are You Going West this Spring ? If so, take advantage of the low oneâ€" way secondâ€"class Settlers‘ rates to cerâ€" tain points in Saskatchewan and Alâ€" berta ; or if round trip ticket is desired the low rate Homeseekers‘ Exeursions in effect each Tuesday until October 26th should appeal to yon. Bear in mind that the Canadian Pacific Railâ€" way offers the tinest possihle equipâ€" ment and fastest train service. The route is one of the most scenic in the world. It is the only line operating through standard and tourist sleepers, also dining cars to Winnipeg and Vanâ€" couver, By travelling C. P. He will tell you what Gin Pills did for him, after he had suffered with Kidney trouble for 15 years. The many friends of Mrs Will Mills, who was formerly Miss Effie Campbell, sympathize with her in the loss of her husband, who succumbed to an attack of pneumonia at their home near Chatham . Mr Jack Mills returned from Chatham Saturday, where he had been attending the funeral of his nephew, the late Willie Mills, Mr Jno.
