All her household effeets were sold but the property is still on the market. Much regret is felt tor Donald Matheson who has been compelied to return from the surveying party in New Ontario, owing to a form of bloodâ€"poisoning which dqeveloped from being bitten by black flies. Donald is under medieal care in a hospital in Toronte now and all wish for bis speedy recovery. Miss Sarah MeKinnon returned to Toronto after spending belidays with Rer parents on the South line. Mr. Donald McKinnon spent Sun, day at bis home and returmed to Torâ€" ento on Monday . Miss Tena MeLean is visiting friends io Caledon tor the past few weeks. AROUND THE VILLAGE VICINITY Priceville Show. lol eCs axms ie The harvest is passed and the glor‘ ious summer will soon be ended. The granaries of the tillers of the soil are l somewhbat smaller in bulk than in forâ€" mer years but shere is no reason to set up a complaint for the grain is urming out, good according to the quantity o straw. . Colin MoLean wit his big thresher is wiping out the Bouth Line farmers during the last week. _ Go up the highland hills of A temesia and you can And some of the best farmers in the county, some of them highland, some lowland, aad by the way is looks as if no â€"other nationality need apply as tuere are about 3 or 4 miles all Scotch with the exesption of some halt dozen other nationalities. _ In olden times there ‘nud to be familiar names such as McLean Mcinnis, Melnatosh and Moâ€" Domald, all in close proximity to one another and now they are all dead or in distant parts of the world. In old en times there were so many of the same name that they had ro be disâ€" tinguished by other titles such as Long Sandy MoLean, Short Sandy McLean and Proton Sandy McLean. Now we havye Proton Sandy a resident of Priceville and the othar two have passed to the great beyond. Owenr Sound Markdale, Cbatsworth and several smaller places are noâ€" gotiasing with the Hydreâ€"Eleciric reâ€" supplying them with electric power. What about our village? We could be in same line. The power is to be generated at Eagenia Falls. Mr. T A M Ferguson, Priceville for rrizu offered. Look up the prize list, _If you have none write the Sec. We remember a Rev. gentleman that was pastor of the eld kirk in Priceville long years ago, tell a story tell a story of the Beotchmaa of (¢lenâ€" garry. _ He said if you met a man on the road and ask him his name. _ His reply would be ‘Tonal‘ ; ~And what‘s your other name ?"â€"another Tonal, meaning Domald McDonald. So a person would not make a mistake in the early part of the souih line to greet every one you would meet by saying *‘ how are you McLean or Moâ€" Millan or MeDona@ld or McArthur," but these poor old McLeans, MoMilâ€" lans and MosDonalds are not as nuâ€" merous as they were, but there are a goodly number of McMillans yet ‘There are Donald, Maloolm and John Moxillan and mrs Hector elean alive yet of the old stock and we hope they may be for a long time yet. The ori. ginal »cheans are pretty well gone. The wellâ€"known Arch. archean left for Vanceuver this summer and we wel come bls successor xt â€"â€"â€" who bought the farm stock and implements this summer. We pass on up to Currie‘s Corners. The old Currie‘s are all gone, only a reminder of them will be seen on yisâ€" iting the churchyard or cemetery. OL the Currie‘s there remains miss awargaret Currie, who in the days of her youth was hard to surpass in all the qualities that made her to be the fairest of her sex in the days of her youth, but * now old age has crept in and bleoming beauty lost its charms," Up a little way was a sevtlement of mcDougall‘s, but not one of the old people living and only one there, Neil »moeDougall and sister, who are on the old farm of their father, the late James meDougall. We are now ftar enough up telling of the good people of the east. So we will take an imaginery walk acress to the old Durhem Road. Away back between 50 and 60 yaars ago this was the leading road to the Teronto line, where many of the poor old proneers of the westarn deyiation tramped on foos going to the older sertlement clad in a bluederry suit aud a carpet bag to carry their proâ€" visions till they would get to the end of their journey, perkaps in the old County of York or Peel. No C. P. R, then to take them to their destination, no automobiles, nos many waggons or horses to relieve the weary travelâ€" lers. We slowly go down the old Durâ€" ham Road, yiewing the old residenees of long ago, the firss settlers all gone preity much. ‘The roads are imâ€" proyed somewhbat, but the old hills are there and will be. We come ta the top of Ferguson‘s hill and lo and: behold we are in sight of Priceyille. The Baugeen River is to be crossed and as we go down the big hill at Colâ€" iu mclean‘s, we come to the river and could not get across for the old bridge is gone, but fortunately as the water was low, there wasn‘t much trouble in getting oyer dry shod on stones. But going up the old hill aguin where the old post office was kept by the late Jquire Ferguason, called Arteâ€" mesia, and in comparing notes of 6) years ago to 1918, we find a vase conâ€" trast. Then the mail was only once a week, carried by old Frederick Arin strong, from down the Toronto line somewhere into Durham via where Priceville stands now. There wasn‘s so many daily papers in ciroulation as newadays, for the ola gentleman carâ€" ried his mail tag on his back. T BE DURHAM REVIEW : the Presbyterian church, of which she was a gooed memter, her cbristian Now we ecome up through town and call here and there, not forgetting to call on Dr. Lane and its hard to find him in his office eyen if a fellow comes to get a broken rib Axed up, for his numerous cally are rory extensive and eannot be found at the office and abroad ag the same timo. Now we stop and leave the rest to a better re. -p;r‘toi and Priceville page will well filled this week. Agus mar bidhkeadh e and solu it. Died at her home on Con. 4.
