Baseball ironmen Rob Liska, of the Cadbury Astros in the peewee division of the Oakville Minor Baseball Association, stands with Toronto Blue Jays Ironman Mark Dalesandro. Not only was he selected a league Jr. Ironman, his name was also selected to be photogra pher for a day with the official photographer of the Toronto #Blue Jays. He had the opportunity to meet the players during their pre-game warm-up and go through the Jumbo-tron room, the press room and the radio room. The pre-game expe rience was the highlight of Rob's baseball season. Jake Dutkiewicz of the Oakville Little League Minor A Red Sox was co-league Jr. Ironman. He won the draw to go to the Blue Jays baseball camp in 1999. He stands with Toronto Blue Jays Ironman Mark Dalesandro. A Jr. Ironman has the determination, perseverance, team spirit and attendance which were characteristics that made Lou Gehrig one of baseball's greatest heroes on and off the field. The 1999 ALS/Toronto Blue Jays Iron Program is accepting registrations for the upcoming 1999 season until the end of June. Call (416) 362-0447 for more info. Registration is open to children playing in organized leagues between the ages of 7 and 15. Team and league registrations are encouraged.
