Mrs. Jennie Montgomery, widow of Stephen Montgomery, died at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Saturday in her 85th year.

Born in Braidwood, Scotland, she came to Canada in childhood with her parents, Catherine and Robert Douglas. She lived in North Grimsby Township until her marriage, when the couple settled in Hamilton.

Since the death of her husband in 1937, she had spent most of her time on the farm of her childhood, caring for her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by a brother, John; two nieces, Mrs. Willis Travis, Smithville; Mrs. Catharine Watts, Tonawanda, N.Y.; and two nephews, Robert Douglas, Niagara Falls, N.Y., and George Douglas, North Grimsby.

Funeral services were held in Smithville by Rev. Herbert J. Scott on Tuesday afternoon. Interment was made in Union Cemetery, Smithville.
