This isn't just a description of the merchandise - it's the attitude that store owner Chris Maynard strives to project. "At Maynard's we have a very relaxed atmos phere," says Maynard. The store has a fireplace and spacious changerooms, and staff that takes the time to consult with clients about their wardrobe. The relaxed atmosphere of the store carries over into the clothes. Rather than selling suits, Maynard's specializes in the business casual look--attractive clothing that is dressy enough to wear around the office, yet casual enough to wear after work. The pair moved the store across the street to its current location, 67 Bronte Rd. "We've moved to the sunny side of the street," kids Maynard. "The new store is double in size and we furnished it to reflect the casual elegance of our merchandise." They also made the store more personal by changing the name to "Maynard's." The store was formerly known as Man of Merit. "When we use our family name it shows how much we stand behind everything we do." Maynard doesn't carry the typical clothing lines carried in major shopping centres; his collections are carefully picked out to offer Oakville something a little different. This spring, Maynard sees men's fashions getting into the linen look. The main colours are taupes and greys, as well as some metallic Maynard's new location is 67 Bronte Road. Photo by Barrie Erskine and platinum colours. According to Maynard, the emphasis is on the accents. "Accents in bright colours, like lemon yellow and French blue, can spice up an entire outfit. This season, we're pop ping with colour." Maynard's wardrobe consulting service helps customers make the most out of their clothes and create a functional wardrobes. "I can show you three different looks from one sports coat," Maynard says. "With or without a tie, you can change the look enough to suit any occasion and remain profession al."
