Wednesday, June 23, 1999 THE OAKVILLE BEAVER C7 OPENING ACTS HAVE POORS WIPE OPEN Each year, we wait and wait and sometimes wait a little longer for the unveiling of the Oakville Waterfront Festival headliners. This year's line will surely be worth the wait! Tom Cochrane, The Rankins and Colin James and the Little Big Band. As well, in Town Square in Downtown Oakville, Johannes Linstead and Mackeel deliver unique and breathtaking performances. But...there's more. Each year, the Festival carefully chooses Opening Acts which will compliment our headlin ers, while sometimes introducing thousands of visitors to new and up and coming artists. This year's Opening Acts are recording artists who have already thrilled audiences across Canada and beyond. Emm Gryner will heat up the stage on Friday night. On Saturday, a new face and voice in Ontario, Gordie Sampson, comes to us from Nova Scotia, with a sound that is both old and new. You'll enjoy contemporary rock melodies as well as yesterday's tales of jigs. On the heels of his CD release, "Stones", Gordie join the Oakville Waterfront Festival for a night of unbelievable talent. Sampson takes to the stage at approximately 7:00pm.
