The awards are a coâ€"operative effort between the Town of Oakville and the Oakville Volunteer Week Planning Committee. Common allergies include animal dander, mould, chemicals, medicines and manâ€"made pollutants. Fighting runny noses, hives, stomach aches and sneezes costs billions of dollars annually. Far worse, five million North Americans experience lifeâ€"threatening allergies to certain foods, drugs, stinging insects or manâ€"made products. Allergies: Nothing to Sneeze At examines new research into the possible cause and cure of allergies and also profiles a patient who has been forced to live in virtual isolation in order to control a severe reaction to mould and chemâ€" icals. which is 19 years of age and under. However, nominees must be resiâ€" dents of Oakville. Candidates may be nominated by any volunteer organization, community group or individual that wants to recognize someone‘s outstanding voluntary efforts. You can pick up an Oakville Volunteer Awards Nomination Form from the various agencies throughout Oakville, at the Glen Abbey and River Oaks Recreation Centres, and the Sir John Colborne and Kerr Street Seniors Recreation centres. Forms are also available at the Clerk‘s and Parks and Recreation Departments located at the Oakville Municipal ‘building, 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville. The criteria used in the selection process are Leadership, Perseverance, Degree of Personal Involvement, creativity and Work Impact on the Community.
