William John Ellis, of Grimsby Beach, well known fruit grower of the Grimsby-Beamsville district for the last 45 years, died Friday at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
In his 85th year, he was born in Grey County in June, 1866, and was a graduate of Woodstock College, forerunner of McMaster University. He was an adherent of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Grimsby.
Surviving, besides, his wife, the former Pearl Jamieson, are a son, John J., of Grimsby Beach, and two daughters, Elaine, of Toronto, and Mrs. A.P. Murphy, of Welland.
The body rested at the Stonehouse Funeral Home, where service was held on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
Interment was made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
