Dear Editor, I am writing to comment about the | vandalism and destruction of pubâ€" lic places that is occurring more freâ€" quently in Milton. As an example, the offâ€"leash dog park had tree limbs broken and graffiti applied to surfaces. This is a park for the benefit of the dogs. And | maintenance at the park is all done by volunteers. I know from seeing this sort of deâ€" | struction that unchecked it will only get worse. in the Calgary neighbourhood we moved from, similar vandalism ocâ€" curred, causing thousands of dollars in damage. it only takes a few ‘bad apples‘ to spoil the bunch. More neighbourhood offiâ€" cer patrols are needed at night. in this town, where there are wonâ€" | derful parks, nature trails and activiâ€" ties for youth, there is no excuse. WAVING FLAG: "The Canadian flag overlooks a scene descriptive of more than 150 years of Milton | history," writes Champion reader Walter Eadie. The St. Clair Masonic Lodge has been in Milton since 1860 and now occupies Bowes Church, immediately adjacent to Bowes Cemetery, which has recorded interments from 1835 of early Milton settlers like the pioneering Bowes and Willmott families.
