ARTS & UFE Crawford Lake event honours country‘s aboriginal roots A special festival at Crawford Lake will recognize our country‘s aborigiâ€" nal past, present and future on Sunâ€" day (June 18). Aboriginal Awareness Day will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the park‘s reconstructed â€" Iroquoian village, where attendees will enjoy a variety of fun and exciting activities. Chief Visitors will learn about Ontario‘s inâ€" digenous history through traditionâ€" al teachings, storytelling and drumâ€" ming with Wahwashkesh drums. They can also try lacrosse and arâ€" chery or create a craft. Attendance to Aboriginal Awareâ€" ness Day is free with regular Conserâ€" vation Halton park admission, which Chief Top Leaf talks to visitors at a 2016 event held at Crawford Lake Conservation Area.
