The Class EA Study is being undertaken in accordance with Schedule ‘C‘ of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process (2000, as amended in 2007, 2011 and 2015), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. The study area is shown on the key plan. Bronte Street between Main Street and Steeles Avenue is an existing twoâ€"lane roadway with an atâ€"grade crossing with CP Rail, as well as a crossing of the Sixteen Mile Creek. The Class EA Study evaluates the need and feasibility for roadway improvements and the need and feasibility for a grade separation at Bronte Street / CP rail crossing. The first Public Information Centre was held on December 3, 2009 to review the existing conditions, issues being addressed and alternative solutions for the proposed improvements on Bronte Street. Subsequently, the project team carried out extensive technical work, developed the design alternatives, carried out an analysis and evaluation of the design alternatives, and identified the technically preferred design alternative for Bronte Street. it is proposed that Bronte Road will be reconstructed with one lane in each direction and the addition of a centre turn lane, the alignment will be improved, and there will be provision for active transportation (sidewalk and multiâ€"use path). A second Public Information Centre has been arranged to review and receive input from members of the public on the technically preferred alternative: Tuesday, October 4, 2016 6:30 pm â€" 8:30 pm Hugh Foster Hall, 141 King Street, Milton If you cannot attend and would like to provide comments, please forward them to the Town of Milton or the Consultant Project Manager as noted below: Alan D‘Souza, P.Eng.
