A most enjoyable evening was spent by some forty guests and members of South Porcupine Fire Department on Saturday evening at the Airport Hotel when the S.P.F.D. held its anâ€" nual banquet. Each Tuesday at 4.00 p:m. the classes begin and prospective pupils may then be admitted. Both teachers are doing exâ€" cellent work with the pupils that they have, and now that, for a very small fee, tapâ€"danâ€" cing is available as well as balâ€" let, they are confident that many more parents will take advantage of the opportunity offered. 4 The auditorium at this school is admirably suited to the reâ€" quirements for this particular branch of education. On Thursday last it was a priâ€" vilege to watch these young children as they gracefully went through their lessons, twirling on their tiny toes and being taught the art of graceâ€" ful deportment. Now that the Broadway Ayâ€" enue School auditorium has been made available for the classes in toe and tap dancing for school children, under the tutelage of Mrs. and Mrs. Lewis, the capacity for more pupils has been greatly increasâ€" ed. Today the visiting teams will be invited to compete in friendâ€" ly games during morning and afternoon. Lunch was served at the Airport Hotel. Teams were expected from Dome, Paâ€" mcour, Cochrane and Iroquois Falls. The first competition in the Laxdies‘ Curling Club of S. Porâ€" cupine was won by Mrs. Ruby Rudkin, with Mrs. Jean Wilder.
