First they transformed the basement of the church into a cafe giving it the quaint name of "The Greasy Spoon".: They prepared the supper themselves and while serving the ladies they wore white jackets and sported jet black moustaches. . N Highliehtit It was with much regret that we‘learned of the death of Mrs. Douglas Jones who died on Tuesday evening in the Barric Hosp‘tal at Barrie, Ontario, after an illness of long duration. . The late Mrs. Jones was a well known figure in Cobalt where she and her husband resided from 1907 until 1917. From there she and her family came to the Porcup‘ne and for many years were residents of Schumacher. .. Survivors are her husâ€" band andâ€"two daughters, Mrs. Grace Hall, and Mrs. Rita Macâ€" kie of Timmins, three grandchildren Douglas and Helen Hali and Wiillam Mackie and one great grandchild Peter Hall. ' The members had the privilege of seeing two films on cancer which were most interesting and educationâ€" al, and which stressed the urgency of an early diagnosis and treatment. It was decided to send a cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society. Mrs. C. R.
